"i have an excellent father, his strength is making me stronger"

i am the epitome of daddy's little girl. the adoration goes both ways. my dad would pull the moon out of the sky for me if he could, and i would go to the end of the world for him if he needed me. my dad is hard working. at 56 years old he gets up at 4:30 am, 5 days a week to go to work. granted, sometimes he is home early in the afternoon, but for the most part he gets home around 4 pm. added to that fact is that he is a truck driver. he does physical labor helping to unload trucks. he's tough and rough and deals with a lot of crap. but he is also sensitive and caring. when i went to my parents crying about my grades this semester, it was him that pat me on the shoulder and said everything would work out. it is him caring for his 83 year old, sick mother day in and day out. a man who has never cooked a meal in his entire married life, he goes by my grandmother every evening to make her dinner, all after working 10-12 hours. he can fix anything, whether it's replacing some plumping, putting new brakes on a car, or cutting one of those plastic/metal security tags off of something that the store forgot to take off, i've yet to give my dad a task that he couldn't handle. of course he has his faults. if i didn't love him so much i would probably want to kill him a lot of the time. he's as stubborn as i am. he doesn't forgive easily.

i am so grateful have such an amazing father, and it is something i will never take for granted.

i hope everyone gave their dads' a little extra love today, whether it was through a hug, a card, song and dance, or just a smile. i know i did.

Happy Father's Day, Dad. I know you aren't reading this, but my future children will be lucky if they have a father have as good as you were.
